Why are there hazardous substance symbols and product information on this product?
Pure essential oils are plant concentrates containing a wide variety of constituents. Some of these constituents, when considered individually, are classified as hazardous substances under the German Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV), for example, as highly flammable or hazardous to water.

The law does not distinguish whether the relevant ingredient is synthetically produced or naturally occurring in the essential oil. Nor does this regulation distinguish between labeling requirements for essential oils that are bottled in 100 ml or delivered in a 100-liter barrel.

This means that even small quantities such as our 20 ml and 100 ml must be labelled with the hazardous substance symbols and hazard phrases, even if these quantities are not hazardous.
